How are you feeling about our current political climate?
Do you feel paralyzed in a time of divisiveness and fear?
Do you feel called to act, but unclear on how to move forward?
Are you seeking opportunities and tools to connect with hope and love?
Are you seeking an alternative approach to life that transforms this “us versus them” mentality into a “both and” paradigm?
The Radical Love Pedagogy, created by Virginia Dearani, Founder of One Tree Center, is a methodology that embodies many tools including mindfulness, nonviolent communication, whole brain development, and intuitive awareness. The pedagogy places special emphasis on social justice consciousness and multicultural responsiveness, which has impacted many children, educators, and parents who engaged with One Tree Center’s programming.
The 11 principles of Radical Love are
Revolution/Altruism/Dialogue/Intention/Commitment/Accountability/Learning – Liberty/Openness/Visioning/Empowerment
One Tree is hosting this workshop to share Radical Love theory and practice with parents and educators to best support you in your roles navigating children’s social, emotional, and identity development. We live in a time requiring revolutionary values that promote compassion, inclusion, and personal and cultural transformation. We are excited to offer this day-long experiential education workshop of storytelling, self-reflection, and case scenarios, where participants will leave with new and refreshed tools as well as experiencing the deeply powerful possibilities of the practice of Radical Love.
Radical Love Topics Include:
- Transforming dualistic thinking
- Engaging in a partnership model
- Learning tools to embody multiple points of view (Practice of Pluralism)
- Deconstructing systems of oppression: i.e. Racism/Sexism/Classism
