QUOTES FROM PARENTS
“After watching our daughter blossom so happily in her first year at Roots and Fruits, we were counting the days until we could get our son into the program as well. It is a great feeling to know that our children are not only safe and happy, but also being introduced to issues of diversity, global awareness and social justice at such a formative age.”
“…our child has grown tremendously as a result of her time spent at Roots n Fruits. She has developed her imagination, her social skills and most certainly her appreciation for valuing a variety of relationships with other children and adults!!”
“One of the many benefits our daughter has received from her year at Roots n Fruits is that she has grown to love and appreciate the wonder that is living and growing together! Our only regret: that she did not transition to this School when she was 3!!”
“Roots n Fruits provided the one on one attention that we wanted for our daughter. More importantly, Virginia and her staff have helped our daughter to grow in her understanding that we all need help along the way and that we all have gifts to give!”
“The other day, while making the bed, my daughter Isabella (age 4) said ‘I want to help mommy, it is called teamwork.’ A few weeks ago, she told her father that she loved him, and then asked ‘Does that make your feelings happy?’ Both moments were from her experience at Roots and Fruits, which has been absolutely wonderful for her and for us.”
“My three-year old son, my husband, and I are all very happy to highly recommend Roots & Fruits Preschool and Ms. Virginia and her Staff! There are many reasons why: Ms. Virginia and her Staff genuinely care about children of this age, and show it! The program integrates children’s cultural backgrounds/heritages in a purposeful way. Children are clearly treated as individuals, and their strengths/gifts are honored. Negative behaviors are treated as learning opportunities, and not as something requiring shameful consequences. Learning occurs thru play and imagination, and caring for one another is a key concept. Ms. Virginia finds ways to celebrate many holidays and traditions from a wide variety of cultures, with real attention to their original intent. This is greatly appreciated in our overly-commercialized society. There has been no turnover of staff all year! Consistency is so important to children of this age. The R&F program is realistic and highly flexible around children’s/family’s schedules. Most importantly, my son loves his teachers and is very happy at Roots & Fruits!”
“At a time when kids are very self-oriented, the staff at Roots and Fruits work with this developmental stage by helping them explore their own skills, culture, and heritage. Yet they also encourage the children to begin thinking beyond their own families, exploring ways to give to the broader community. Roots and Fruits has far exceeded my expectations for a quality preschool program. The staff inspire me to incorporate more of their ideas into my parenting.”
