Cross Cultural Relations – Through experiential exercises, storytelling, dialogue, and self-reflection, participants will explore all aspects of one’s identity, reflect on how American culture’s labels limit one’s identity; explore our differences and the many similarities within our differences; and begin to re-create their homes, classrooms, and workplaces that truly honor and appreciate all aspects of our identities.
Throughout the training, participants will:
- Define and explore all aspects of one’s cultural identity.
- Examine how American culture labels individuals, placing them in various social boxes that hold different levels of power within society.
- Discuss and reflect how our current social structure of power reinforces division and relations of “us” versus “them.”
- Learn new tools of truly listening and understanding our various cultural identities.
