Through experiential exercises, reading, dialogue, visual art, and games, participants will examine the definitions of domination versus partnership, and examine our current American institutions structure of leadership as it relates to both. Professionals will learn to transform their current workplaces of domination and “power-over” to systems of partnership and “power-with” where hierarchies of actualization are created.
Throughout the training, participants will:
- Explore the theories of domination versus partnership, based on Riane Eisler’s research.
- Examine one’s current place of employment, exploring the values of leadership currently being implemented.
- Explore the concept and definition of a hierarchy of actualization and discuss the possibilities of implementing this system of leading and guiding within one’s institution.
- Begin to learn the tools of shared power and partnership, creating a system based in a hierarchy of actualization.
