Through experiential exercises, dialogue, storytelling, visual art, music, and games participants will learn the power of fostering perspectives that value all abilities. Both mainstream children and children with special “needs or gifts” learn how to be both students and teachers to one another, creating a classroom where all children in their different gifts are honored, valued, and special.
Throughout the training, participants will:
- Explore the difference between “Mainstream” and “Non-mainstream” children as they are labeled and tracked within American Educational System
- Discuss the challenges and opportunities in creating inclusive classrooms that embody all children with diverse abilities
- Learn the power of releasing the labels and simply seeing all kids in their strengths and challenges.
